At Base Power Company, we believe that the energy transition is inevitable - and that batteries + software are the key unlock to this transition. When EV penetration goes from~ 7% to 70%+, and other parts of the economy are electrified - these problems will intensify. We are seeking a world class individual to join our early team as the Head of Retail Energy. As an early employee, you will shape and lead the entire business strategy, early customer set, key partnerships, and product vision for the company - and have a direct impact on laying the foundation for the industry transition.
What You’ll Do
Strategy
Build out a product roadmap that matches an initial intended customer set, inclusive of hardware and software broad vision alongside the founders
Determine, study, and deeply understand our customer; inclusive of propensity to purchase
Develop the sales motion to core customers: installers & utilities. Understand, articulate, and document the value proposition to each, and steer the product and engineering organizations to deliver to them
Identify and execute key partnerships with TDU's and other entities
Execution
Build and motivate a world-class product, marketing, and go-to-market team.
Establish and nurture key relationships with customers; being the primary POC for Base with customers to begin with. Act as an account executive in the early days of the company
Identify and highly motivate key decision makers at large utilities and installers to purchase and build strategic, years-long partnerships.
Develop and manage product roadmaps alongside engineering leadership
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or business field
Demonstrated ability to build and execute on product vision
History building a team, driving results and fostering a culture of excellence.
A distinct ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working with public utilities or related entities, 5+ years
Preferred
Experience working with all types of electric utilities: municipal, investor-owned, and co-ops
Experience developing technically-oriented products: software or hardware
