Base Dual Ground Mounted System Components

Total Energy
50 kWh
This is the total storage capacity of the battery, or how much total energy it can hold and deliver before needing to be recharged.
Usable Energy
44 kWh
This is the amount of energy available for use from the batteries. Not all stored energy is always accessible due to safety buffers and efficiency limits. Here, 44 kWh is available for actual use in the dual ground-mounted battery system. It can provide 1 kW of power for 44 hours, 2 kW for 22 hours, or 10 kW for about 4.4 hours.
Real Power, max continuous
11.4 kWh
This is the maximum amount of power the inverter can continuously supply, measured in kilowatts (kW).
Typical Duration
20-27 hours
This is the estimated amount of time the Base backup system can protect you during an outage based based on power usage of a typical Texas household.
Reduced Usage Duration
60-81 hours
This is the estimated amount of time the Base backup system can protect you during an outage based based on power usage of a typical Texas household.
Warranty/Maintenance
Base handles in days
Base handles all service and maintenance for the lifetime of the battery.
Auto-Switch
< .5 seconds
This is the amount of time it takes for the Base backup system to detect an outage and automatically switch your home to battery power.
Load Start Capability
88 - 100 A LRA
This specifies the battery’s ability to start or "kick-start" appliances with high inrush current requirements, measured in Locked Rotor Amps (LRA). The battery can support loads that need 88-100 LRA to start. Note: AC units with an LRA above 100 may require a soft start to work with this battery.
Operating Temperature
-10°C - 50°C (14°F- 122°F)
Shows the ambient temperature range within which the battery can safely operate.
Noise Level @ 1m
40dB (Nearly Silent)
The sound level produced by the battery at a distance of 1 meter, here indicated as 40 dB, which is about the same as a refrigerator hum.
Grid Frequency
60 Hz
This is the frequency the North American grid operates on. This is relevant if you have or will one day install solar panels.
AC Voltage (Nominal)
120/240 V
This means we support the two levels of eletrical power your home receives: 120 volts for regular appliances like lamps and TVs, and 240 volts for bigger devices like ovens and dryers. This is standard for North American residential homes.
UL Certifications
1973; 1741; 9540; 9540A
This battery system has the following Underwriters Lab (UL) certifications:

UL 1973 - Battery Safety Standard
UL 1741 - Grid Connection Standard
UL 9540 - Energy Storage System Standard
UL 9540A - Thermal Runaway Testing

What do I need to do if I plan to do work on my house?

For any electrical work involving your main panel, the electrician can turn off the main panel while they work as they normally would. There's no need to turn off the battery or do anything specific to the battery. Keep in mind that Base systems only support up to 200 amps, so if you plan to upgrade your main panel to exceed 200 amps, please contact us at support@basepowercompany.com.

How do I add solar to my stepup?

Solar is a great complement to Base because your excess solar will charge the battery, extending outage protection. In addition, with solar panels, you’ll get access to Base’s competitive solar buyback program where we buy back 100% of your excess production at the real time wholesale rate plus 3 cents.

Base does not have a recommended solar provider, and we recommend doing your own research to find a reputable provider with good reviews.

Once you confirm you're adding solar, email us at support@basepowercompany.com so we can ensure your solar gets properly integrated with Base.
