I grew up in Texas, the energy capital of America. I watched Winter Storm Uri knock out power to millions of homes for days. Meanwhile, electricity prices have nearly doubled over the last 20 years. The grid wasn't designed for what we're asking of it - we built Base to rebuild it, and fast.
When I met my co-founder Justin Lopas, he'd just spent years building rockets at SpaceX and leading manufacturing at Anduril. The team we've built around us launched satellite constellations and engineered the first electric vehicles at scale. They came here because energy is the next problem to solve this country. Everything we build starts from the same place: affordable, reliable power for everyone — whether that means lower bills, backup power, or technology that just works.
